On World Heart Day, special CPR training was organized for rickshaw drivers by GCS Hospital in association with Ahmedabad Rickshaw Chalak Ekta Union on September 29. Dr. Heena Chhanwal (HOD – Anaesthesia Department) and the team from the Anaesthesia Department of GCS Hospital explained the technique of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) - how to save a person when a heart attack occurs, how to give compression in a particular part of the chest, in which position of the hand, and how much pressure should be given with the practice on mannequin too. Many life-threatening incidents such as heart attack, electrocution, drowning and cardiac arrest, etc. can be saved by immediate CPR.

Every year World Patient Safety Day is celebrated with a different theme to spread awareness about patient safety. This year's theme was "Medication Safety - Medication Without Harm". The day was celebrated by GCS Hospitals with a special Awareness Exhibition Competition and Panel Discussion. In this exhibition, various models/posters of medication safety were prepared and displayed for staff and patients. Different models were presented by 11 teams of around 80 staff in the exhibition. More than 300 staff and people came at the exhibition. Prizes were also given to the top 3 models in the exhibition. Apart from this, a special seminar discussion on the theme of medication safety was also organized. The panelist for Medication Safety discussion was Dr. Vipul Prajapati (Asso. Professor- Department of Medicine), Dr. Vipul Chaudhari (Asso. Professor- Pharmacology), Tejal Padharia (Nursing Head), and Dhvani Patel (Clinical Pharmacist) and Moderator was Shweta Singh (Asst. Manager - Quality) where they discussed various medication safety related issues and precautions.

Mother's Day was celebrated at GCS Hospital with female staff bringing their children to the hospital. A special event was organized by the Womaniya Wing of GCS Hospital so that mothers can celebrate this special day with their children and get a chance to know more about the mother's workplace. Various games and activities were organized for mothers and children. The eyes of all the mothers were filled with tears of joy when a few kids addressed their mothers and said words of appreciation for their mothers.

International Nurses' Day was celebrated in recognition of Florence nightingale's contribution towards the modern nursing profession on 12 May'22. On this occasion, our chief guest Dr. Pragna Dabhi (Register - Gujarat Nursing Council), and Ms. Vasudha Prajapati (Deputy Register- GNS) gave their valuable presence. The whole event was sequenced from Prayer, Lamp lighting, Pledge, Appreciation of covid worrier/front-line workers, and Certification for link nurses' course, and ended up with the cultural program.

International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 Jun'22. All the employees joined the yoga program and desk yoga was also organized to promote a healthy lifestyle.

World Hand Hygiene Day was celebrated on 5 May'22 with the theme – Unite for safety: clean your hands, with a focus on encouraging people to clean their hands at the right times with the right products that will help lead to high quality safer care everywhere. Different activities like Hand Hygiene UV gel Activity to check proper hand hygiene, Quiz competition, and Patient and Relative education for Hand Hygiene & wound care management at home were organized.

Infinity 2022 is annual event of Cultural and Sports events of GCS Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Ahmedabad. Every year, It was celebrated for 5 days with various activities and competition.

GCS Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre has yet again proved itself in exceptional patient care and safety by getting fully accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) - 5th Edition. GCSMCH is the first Medical College and Multispecialty 750 bed Hospital in Ahmedabad for achieving this mark of excellence valid from 17 Mar’22 to 16 Mar'26.

GCSMCH&RC has established IVF Clinic as a ray of hope for the mothers. IVF Clinic will aid couples with realizing their dreams of growing their families.

GCSMCH&RC is registered as a “Kidney Transplant Centre” by the State Authorization Committee, Transplantation of Human Organ Act, Government of Gujarat.

Women's day was organized by the Womaniya Committee team and was celebrated in GCSMCH & RC with full fervor and Spirit. The theme of the program was Break the BIAS-Boundaries, Insecurities, Anxiety & Stigma. The speakers of the program were Ms. Chandani Shah who spoke on Entrepreneurship & Cake designing, Ms. Ruju Desai gave insights into Fitness and Wellbeing, and Dr. Jaishree Bamaniya spoke about Menstrual Hygiene and Health.

2021

International Women's Day was celebrated at GCS Hospital under the theme ‘I choose to Challenge' were more than 200 Female Employees gathered to celebrate Womanhood and cherish a day by honoring each other's achievements.

GCSMCH & RC promotes feminism, women's prominence, and the needs of women in professional and personal lives. In context with the same, the session for "Women & Fitness- An Attention to self-care" was conducted on 30 Jan’21 and Ms. Ruju Desai, a certified fitness expert and a nutritionist joined us for the same.

GCS Hospital's Nurses celebrated this International Nurses Day with the COVID patients. Antakshari, Garba, Pranayama, and Yoga were organized in the COVID wards to encourage the Nurses as well as to help the COVID patients stay stress-free. The patients also participated along with the nurses in these celebrations.

The coffee day was celebrated on 1 Oct'21. The event was graced by Ms. Lipi Goyal (Public Speaker, Coach, and Award-Winning Emcee) as the chief speaker of the program.

2020

Women's Day & Samvad (Q4) was celebrated with great zeal on 7th March 2020. The purpose of Samvad is to encourage team spirit and motivation of all the departments and employees. Samvad Q4 was conducted by the Nursing Department.

Very few people are there who elevate themselves in the bad times and we have that strong team of ladies who have pushed themselves with positivity and great enthusiasm. To sustain the same fanaticism, A Lockdown Leader Contest proclaimed to gather lockdown activities, lockdown lifestyle, learnings and to identify the hidden talents, interests, skills & creativity and to motivate the employee during this pandemic time and further as per GCS perspective - to use the skills in future at any forum.

Pharmacy team of GCS Hospital celebrated World Pharmacists Day with Rangoli making & Pharmacy Stores decoration. The pharmacy team also distributed Immunity boosters to all hospital staff. The team also created posters on Good Pharmacy practices & Patient safety awareness and exhibited at Entrance Area. The team celebrated the occasion with team lunch and cake cutting.
